Functionally, it makes no difference which area code you pick. As long as your friends are in the USA, they will not be charged any long download textnow app. I had this on my phone but then a few months later it stopped charging but then I got a computer and so on now I'm downloading it for my computer over all, great app.
I didn't have a phone number before but now I have a whole new one for free plus it's free and you don't have to pay more money after the app is downloaded. I love this app. I can get a hold of all my friends on summer break and winter break and the only time I would have to pay is if I call someone that's in a different country but i can still text them and it's only 10 cents if I have an international call.
If you are looking to make free calls on this app for any particular reason, look elsewhere! This application only allows you to text others as the call option does not work. When my service returns, I can't close this app down. As fast as I close it out, it pops right back up, download textnow app. But, alas, I never could find another app that came close to replacing it I have reaquired TextNow.

I am download textnow app windows Used this till today when on my PC it fails to send, and works fine on my phone, switching to something else because of it, dunno why it decided to fail but you lost a loyal user cause of it, oh and the APP you cant send pictures, tells u to update it but its already on the updated version.
